This Time Next Year Tag!

Thursday, May 25, 2017

I love when bloggers share interesting facts about themselves. It feels like you're getting to know them "in person". One way of getting to know about your favorite bloggers are participating in tags. I have not participated in one for some time, so I'm really excited about this one. I would like to thank the lovely Alexandra from Alexandra Quinlann for tagging me in the "This Time Next Year Tag"! She's an awesome blogger, so be sure to check her blog out! This tag came at the right time for me, because I've recently been thinking about the long term goals I want to set for myself

Here are the rule for this tag:

1. Thank the person who tagged you
2. Set yourself goals for the next year
3. Write about how you'll achieve these goals
4. Tag at least 5 of your blogger friends to do this post
5. In 365 days, write a post reflecting on your goals & what you achieved

My Goals:
Follow a healthy lifestyle.
I believe it's good to indulge in the not so healthy things sometimes, but it's more important to know everything that goes into your body. Changing the way you eat will change how you feel and will help you become more cautious of what you eat. So I am going to add more fruits and vegetables to my lifestyle. More importantly I am going to drink more water. Water is great for healthy hair and skin.
Expand my blog.
I love blogging and I want my blog to grow. I want to connect with more readers and I want to expand the content I talk about. I want to start blogging consistently and I want to blog daily. Well at least five times a week. I'm passionate about this and I've learned so much.
Writing a book.
Through blogging I have realized that I enjoy writing and I have grown from it while blogging. I am not sure where to start, but I guess I should start off small and write an eBook. Mainly about my experiences with blogging and how it's important to be yourself and stay true to what you want and don't want to write on your blog.
Donate to more charities.
I have donated to a few charities and I felt good afterwards. Not for show, but because I am helping people in need. It doesn't matter whether you don't have enough every donation matters. So I have found some more charities I want to donate to. So this is an important goal for me.
Grow my main twitter and my 2nd Twitter page "No Girl Is Perfect".
Numbers are not everything but I would like to connect to more people on twitter. Especially since I started my second page. So it's important for me to be consistent with promoting my blog and just interacting more with everyone. So I am going to schedule my tweets, because a lot of people I talk do this all the time. I'm sure it's also very helpful to stay organized as well.
So here are the lovely bloggers I'm tagging for this post. This is optional no worries! If you don't do this, feel free to comment your goals instead!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post! If you like this tag try it and let me know your goals!

3 Bloggers Who Inspired Me To Blog Again!

Thursday, May 11, 2017

Never in a million years did I think, I would have a blog. But here I am! There have been times where I just didn't know if this was for me. I have realized that blogging is something that has changed me in a positive way and I don't see it going away. Whenever I'm feeling down about blogging, I always find myself going to some amazing blogs for help. But it's the people behind those blogs that have motivated me.

Each of them work so hard on their blogs and photos. Sometimes I wonder where they find all of that motivation. I applaud these bloggers for their dedication. Although I've been blogging for almost five years, I've learned a lot from the past year or so.

Jemma is one of the most coolest people in the world, to bad I haven't met her yet. Her personality is very bubbly and colorful just like her hair. Jemma takes pride in anything that she does and that encourages me to work harder. She is also very talented, she creates blog headers and has an Etsy shop! Also she's responsible for creating "The Girl Gang". This group of girls are super supportive! Here's the link to her blog: Dorkface

Paula is down to earth and very creative, especially with her photography. I struggle just to take five decent photos. Her blogging tips are endless and I've learned a lot from reading her posts. Her tips have also helped me get in touch with my creative side. I actually have fun taking pictures and experimenting with different props. You know if she decided to create a book, I'm pretty sure it would be called "The Bloggers Guide For Taking Great Photos"! Here's the link to her blog: Thirteen Thoughts

Amie has to be one of the nicest people around. You would of thought I've known her for years in real life! But seriously she's very supportive and tries to help people out any way she can. Her posts are very helpful and they make me think outside the box. These posts have helped me realize that I can write interesting posts that people can relate to. Here's the link to her blog: The Curvaceous Vegan

No girl should be compared to another. No girl is better than the other. I've always said If I could inspire one person, that would complete a goal of mine. This choice was out of the blue, but I also thought long and hard about. You're probably saying hurry up already, so I'll just say it. I recently created a twitter page besides the one I already have. I almost gave up, but if you want something you have to work hard for it. As you all know Twitter can be a big problem with creating usernames, because all of them seem to have been taken. I came up with a lot of names, but when I searched for them users already had them. Some of them haven't even been on since a few years ago. But I guess this was my challenge. This was my test to see if I would give up.

So I kept searching and searching, then I realized I wanted to create a hashtag. Just like a username hashtags are just as hard. You have to be original, bring something new, something fresh and something different.  When I researched this hashtag it was used before, but it wasn't a lot of tweets and it dated back a couple of years ago. So I decided to use it! With that being said I finally figured out the name and hashtag of this page. It's called "No Girl Is Perfect". It's about the everyday girl problems or thoughts. We can talk about makeup, clothes, wearing no makeup, relationships, the single life, anything. This is like an online hangout spot. There's no limits for this page. I created this page so girls could realize, there isn't a such thing as perfect. You what that's ok, we all have flaws. I want everyone to feel comfortable with who they are and this is a great way to meet people and connect. Sometimes it's hard to find your voice in a place that's big and no one will listen, But that changes now! I want you to find your voice hear. The only thing that is not tolerated is bashing others, saying things to hurt others and name calling. This will be a friendly environment. Whether you're married or single, young or older this is a place to have fun. It doesn't matter what shape, size, color, race or age! I want this to be like a slumber party! Over time I will create a chat for this page/ hashtag, but I want this to be more established before I go to that.

I don't know where this will end up but I feel like it's time to take some risks. I hope you will join me on this journey. I want you to feel comfortable on this page and feel free to let me know your thoughts. To connect with the page you can use the hashtag NoGirlIsPerfect. Also you can just tweet to the page itself! If you have an opinion, advice or need help tweet using the hashtag or tag the page. If you would like to checkout my new page out and give it a follow, I would appreciate that.  I hope you enjoyed reading this and I'm really excited for this next step! So don't forget to click the link below and join in.

How To Stay Inspired While Blogging

Wednesday, February 15, 2017

Blogging is hard work to be honest. Whether it's just a hobby, part time job or full time job, it's difficult. Trying to think of new and interesting topics to talk about and taking the "perfect" photo is a lot. So there have been times where I just lost all confidence and motivation in anything I did, related to blogging. I didn't want to think about it or be apart of it. I was lacking inspiration. After awhile I came to the conclusion that my rut was going to continue, if I didn't do something about it. I gained my motivation from little things that mean so much. Have you ever heard of the saying "sometimes the little things mean more than the bigger things". Whether it was a comment on my blog or someone asking if I was ok. That meant a lot to me, because it showed that I was noticed. Not in a conceited though, I hope you understand. So during the times where I stopped blogging, I always found myself going to the same places for inspiration. I'm going to share these ways of staying inspired while blogging and I hope this helps you!

Reading Blogs
This is the number one way I find motivation to blog again. In no way is this to "scope out" the competition, because this isn't one. I love reading other blogs for ideas, especially posts that have tips to be better. For example, "Ways to make your pictures better" or "Things you could do for your blog if you don't feel like writing". These are super helpful to me and I've improved so much with my blog.
I'm obsessed with Pinterest, I can pin for hours! Whenever I'm not in the best mood or I need some motivation and inspiration, this is where I go. There is so much on Pinterest that I don't even know where to start. I love pinning things like makeup, curly hair pictures &  tips, hair & beauty, wedding inspiration, recipes, health/ fitness and celebrities! Depending on my mood that day I will focus on one to two boards! But if I'm feeling all over the place, I will pin everything! Whether you're a beauty, lifestyle, fashion, or food blogger the amount of ideas are endless!
Pinterest and Instagram are my favorite social media sites! In my opinion both are very similar to one another. I'm always inspired by Instagram feeds to improve and up my blogging game. Plus it's really interesting to see what someone is like by looking at their feed!
Twitter is helpful in finding motivation because of the chats you can get involved in. If you have a question, most likely someone will answer you. As for the twitter chats, there are so many. Sometimes it gets overwhelming because it's a lot and I know for me I forget.
For me, if I'm down in the dumps I like to change the look of my blog. It can be little changes or big ones. Whether you want to change your blog name, design or the things you like to talk about. I say go for it, this will definitely give you motivation. Sometimes staying with the same topics can get quite boring, so feel free to spice things up!
I hope you enjoyed reading and if you have things you do to stay inspired, let me know!

Matrix Oil Wonders

Sunday, February 12, 2017
My hair is very complicated and most times trying to tame it gets very stressful. I could spend so much time on my hair and it would still look a mess. One thing I struggle most with, when it comes to my hair is the frizz. I usually experience it on the front of my hair and on the crown. This has always been a problem and I'm usually cool with trying out different products to fix this. As you know in previous posts, I've been talking about Notino. Their site offers a variety of beauty products and it's very affordable. That's where I got a hold on the "Matrix Oil Wonders Nourishing Oil Shine For Wavy And Curly Hair".
The Matrix Oil Wonders is an oil that nourishes curly and wavy hair, while adding shine to it. It's suppose to tame curly and frizzy hair. Although it's suitable for all types of hair, curly and wavy girls will benefit more from it. This is a no rinse treatment, which means it stays in your hair. The matrix oil can also be used prior to washing or added to your conditioner. Matrix Oil Wonders makes your hair easier to comb and smooths your curls, meanwhile improving the quality of your hair. This oil contains extracts from  fruits of the murumuru palm to hydrate your scalp, protecting the hair from free radicals. This also makes your hair smell good. This products costs $17.45 and the bottle itself is 4.2 fl oz.
I have used this for a while and I'm very surprised at the results. Now I know I've said I'm experimental with the products I try, but sometimes they can be misleading. I'm glad I was wrong about this product. As with any product, you won't see the results overnight but I saw some difference after the second time. But after  using it for awhile I could see a big difference with my hair. Like I said before my hair is very complicated and trying to find something that my hair doesn't fight against, is a struggle. So seeing my hair not as frizzy made me happy. One thing I really love is that my hair is so smooth and much softer.
My process while using this oil is very simple. I apply the oil to my hair before washing, as well as with the conditioner. This ensures that my hair stays soft and easy to manage throughout the process. I've also used this to style my hair, which helps to keep it moisturized and hydrated. This is really good to use when your wearing your hair in a protective style. For example, when I'm braiding or twisting my hair for a, braid out or twist this oil helps. So when it's times to take my hair a loose, my hair stays shiny and moisturized! A lot goes along way, so this product lasts you a long time, which is a plus. I definitely recommend checking this product out, especially if you're a curly or wavy girl.

*I was sent this product for free in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are 100% my own.

Staying Positive Throughout The Year

Wednesday, January 18, 2017
Whether you're stressing out or feeling down, it's important to stay positive throughout the year. I know when I'm stress, I get really anxious. Then my whole mood gets ruined and I get upset. But whether you have anxiety or not stress happens to everyone. At least that's what I thought. So I decided to share some ways to help stay positive and experience less stress for the year. These are things that help me and hopefully they help you too. Now I've mentioned some of these in other posts, but that just shows how much I find these ways a must try.
Writing In A Journal
Writing has become a habit that I've enjoyed. This blog has helped me become a better writer. If you don't blog, writing in a journal is just as good. I remember when I was younger I used to have so many diaries. Especially if you enjoy creative writing, a journey is perfect. One day I want to write an ebook, so I'm working on that.
I know for drawing makes me happy. I always enjoy seeing other people's work. It's very inspiring and it's great to put positive energy into an art piece.
This is a great stress reliever and a way to live a healthier lifestyle.
Listening To Music
This is one of my favorite things to do to keep calm and relaxed. Enjoying some good upbeat music is one way to stay positive! Two of my favorite songs to listen to is Firework & Roar, by Katy Perry.
These songs are uplifting and very motivating for me.
Reading A Book
Sadly I really don't read books, unless we're talking about magazines! But seriously I really want to start getting into books, because they can be relaxing. I've seen a lot of books on staying motivated, so that's great.
Waking and listening to music is not only relaxing, but you feel happy and positive as well. Maybe that's just me. Well during the other seasons it's beautiful watching the flowers bloom or the colorful leaves  and the beautiful sunshine. Not so much for the winter.

I hope you enjoyed reading and let me know what things you like to do to stay positive!

Favorite Winter Drink!

Saturday, January 14, 2017
My favorite drink for the Winter is got chocolate. I remember when I was younger I wanted to drink my hot chocolate in a mug, because that's what the people on tv did! I thought it was fancy and I always felt cool. Obviously when I make this popular winter drink, it comes from the box. You know when you open the box it's the little packages. It wasn't until some time ago when I made it from scratch, it wasn't my recipe though. Quite frankly this one isn't going to be either, don't judge me! I figured it was a more natural way of having hot chocolate, for me it doesn't matter but I know a lot of people don't really care for the processed version.

This recipe is something I found from the internet, it's very simple and easy. It's Martha Stewart's Hot Chocolate Recipe. When tell how easy it is, trust all you're doing is using about three ingredients. This recipe makes a container full, so you can use it for a while. This recipe is also simple because you can add whatever you like. If I were to add anything it would be marshmallows! I will list the ingredients at the bottom of you don't want to go to the site, but  I would recommend you do so. Martha Stewart has a lot of great recipes, especially her pound cake!
  • 3 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 1/4 cups cocoa
  • 1 tablespoon table salt
  • Whole milk for serving
Check out where I found this recipe!

Happy New Year!

Sunday, January 1, 2017
Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all enjoyed the holidays. I can't believe it's 2017 already. I'm so grateful to see another year with everyone I care about and love! I have so many goals and plans for myself and I'm really excited for them. I've been thinking about all the plans I have for blog and for me as a person. This year is going to be different, because I'm not going to be so hard on myself. But I also realize that if I want something, I have to work hard for it. It's not just going to fall out of the sky for me. I'm so motivated for the new year. Although everyday is a fresh start, I feel like the new year makes it a clean slate. When you're trying to figure out life and all of the obstacles you're clueless on where to start. But I think I'm getting there, it's taking time but life is all about learning from mistakes and not making them again. Not to rush time, but this year will mark 5 years of blogging for me. But I feel like it's my first because this is a new beginning for me. It's still the same blog, but I've grown as a person. I'm learning to have fun with blogging and accepting me and my flaws. I decided on a more organized blogging schedule too, so that's a relief!
I'm a work in progress and although I don't expect everything to happen overnight, I'm hoping I can accomplish all my goals. Hopefully this world will see brighter days, despite everything that has happened with in the past couple of months. If you want to see change, then do something an it. This is indeed a true statement. I believe people should be treated equally and with respect. No one should feel ashamed or scared of who they are. This year should be filled with peace and happiness. I know everything can't always be rainbows and unicorns filled with sprinkles of positivity, but I'm hopeful. In a place filled with so much negativity having a positive attitude isn't going to make everything better, but it will give some light where darkness falls. You know I should write an ebook of positive messages. I know for me reading inspirational quotes help so much when I'm feeling down. So here's to 2017! A new year to dream big, live life to the fullest, love, stay positive and encourage everyone around you!
