The Holidays are for enjoying your family and friends! But it's also a time to reflect on life as a whole. I remember in the GRL POWR Bloggers (#GRLPOWR) chat I joined on Twitter the other day, one of the questions were "What do you prefer - giving or receiving presents?" My answer was "When you get older you realize how much meaningful giving presents is! Seeing the look on someone's face is worth it!" This is truly how I feel, because Christmas means so much more than presents.
As I get older I really don't know what I want for Christmas anymore. My "list is very short". Around the holidays I constantly think about the people who are less fortunate. It makes me realize how blessed I am and that life should not be taken for granted. I rather give gifts to the people who don't have anything. To see the look on their faces and for them to know how special they are is what matters most.
Just being with my family and laughing about old times and creating knew memories, are all the presents I need. Life is too short for the negativity. We often complain about the smallest things and we often forget to appreciate the things we have. Cherishing special moments with the people you love and care about is what's really important. I hope this doesn't bring anyone's mood down. Don't get me wrong, opening up presents is fun and waking up at 5:00 am on Christmas Day is fun. But it's also a time to appreciate and enjoy life. I hope you enjoyed reading and let me know how you feel about Christmas/ The Holidays in general.
