Vaseline: total moisture

Wednesday, November 13, 2013
When the weather starts to get cold, my skin tends to get dry. I do not like the feeling of dry skin. It is not super dry (if that makes any sense), but it is really uncomfortable. So when I went to Walmart about a month ago I found the lotion of my dreams!

This is a clean feeling lotion for healthy soft skin. It includes pure oat extract + stratys 3 (multi-layer moisture)This lotion leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft.

The Vaseline total moisture comes in 3 different kinds, based on your skin care needs. The aloe fresh is a light feeling lotion for healthy fresh skin. This comes in a green bottle. The other one is cocoa radiant which is a rich feeling lotion for healthy glowing skin. This comes in a brown bottle. I have the one pictured above; it's the one that I saw first. But I will definitely have to try the others.

The best part about this lotion is that it quickly absorbs without leaving the skin feeling greasy. This is one of the reasons I like this lotion. So many other lotions left my skin feeling sticky; that might be worst than dry skin. This lotion is great for my skin. I believe this lotion will help anyone who is experiencing any dry skin during the winter. You do not have to choose this one, if it does not fit your skin needs. You can always choose one of the other choices: Aloe fresh and Cocoa radiant.

Confessions of a beauty blogger tag

Tuesday, November 12, 2013

I was looking at Abbie's blog over at kittensintophats. You all should really check out her blog. So on her blog I saw the "Confessions of a beauty blogger tag". I love tags so I decided to do it.
When did you start your blog?
In June of last year I first set up my blogger account, but I officially started October 19 of last year.

Have you had any other online presence before? (like other blogs or a Youtube channel)
Yes. I have a YouTube channel (since last year), but I have not uploaded anything at the moment.

Why did you start your blog?
I wanted to inspire other people to follow their dreams. In the process of starting this blog, I remembered my own dreams and I wanted to follow them. I also started to blog because I wanted to connect with other bloggers and share my interests with other people. I wanted to make YouTube videos, but I realized blogging was best for me. I feel like it's a little easier, than "talking to a camera". Besides I rather watch videos than making them!

When did you become serious about starting a blog?
I realized I liked blogging a lot. Also, people were actually reading my blog and that really encouraged me to keep going. Most importantly I remembered why I started blogging.

What was your first post?
My first post was an introduction to my blog!

Where do you see your blog in a year?
It is really hard to answer. Honestly, I do not know. I know as a blogger I see myself being more experienced with posting more frequently

What is the most rewarding thing to you about blogging?
Being apart of the blogging community and interacting with other bloggers. I have also made friends through blogging.

What is the most discouraging thing that happens to you?
I know being a known blogger doesn't happen fast, but sometimes I get discouraged. Because I do not have a lot of comments on my posts I feel like no one likes what I post. Sometimes I feel like I am doing something wrong, but I guess patience is the key.

What's your lasting motivation/inspiration?
Besides family, bloggers/blogger friends. I see a lot of them posting 3 times a day almost and
that encourages me. They still keep going whether they have 20 comments, 4 comments, or 0 comments. Sometimes I had a feeling of wanting to stop because I didn't know if blogging was for me. Honestly I still do not know; but I am going to continue because I am motivated.

I tag:

I tag anyone else who likes this tag!

Mean Girls?

Sunday, November 10, 2013
This post is one I've been thinking about doing for awhile now. I am not calling anyone out specifically, but if the shoe fits wear it. If you're someone who deals with mean girls in real life or over the internet, this post is for you. If you're a mean girl then you should stick around.

Lately mean girls have been trending and I do not mean the movie. It seems like a lot of women/girls are deal with them. Whether you're a blogger, you make videos on YouTube, or in your everyday life we all have come in contact with mean girls. Right now I have not come in contact with internet mean girls but in real life I have dealt with them. I remember in the 3rd grade I would come home crying because they kicked me out of their club. Everyday I would play by myself. When I got older there were new mean girls who became cattier and at the same time I became stronger.  We all know the feeling of getting picked on and not being accepted sucks. Just remember that you are a good person and because the mean girls are not, they became jealous. But apparently jealously takes over and everyone wants to act 5 years old.

Honestly, I do not understand why their called Mean Girls, they act just like bullies. So what's the difference? There isn't one, at least not in my mind. I am so tired of women/girls putting each other down. We should be trying to help one another succeed. There are plenty of reasons why mean girls act this way, but they do not have a clue how it affects the person they're picking on. Some people may feel like their not good enough; they might not have any confidence. I want women/girls to that you are special and should not let "Mean Girls" bring you down.

As for the movie it is very interesting and I've watched it more than once, but it does not go into details. Maybe because that was not the purpose.

This movie goes in depth about internet bullying. One of the saddest things in this movie was the person behind this whole thing was her best friend  When I saw this movie I was really sad. The movie had an ok ending, but at the end it was stated that it was based on a true story.

This is another movie about Mean girls. It also shows the affect it has on the person getting picked on.

Mean Girls may say you're not good enough or you're not pretty, but that's not true. You all are beautiful on the inside and that shows on the outside. You all are worth it. Mean Girls are rude and vicious and if their bothering you, talk to someone about it. You can even talk to me because I do understand. You all are so important and unique I hope you know that. Remember: Mean Girls will do anything for attention.

CMA Awards fashion: My top 5 favs

Thursday, November 7, 2013
I am not a Country fan except for the time I was little and liked the Dixie Chicks. I do listen to Taylor Swift sometimes, but anyway; I still love fashion and I had to follow what the stars were wearing. So with that being said, here are my top favorite outfits. There in no specific order.

1. Carrie Underwood: She looked gorgeous in her Ralph & Russo Couture dress. Her dress was a pretty gold color that included crystals. Midway down the dress all the way to the bottom, transitioned into see through dress. Not everyone can pull this off, but Carrie looked stunning.

2. Taylor Swift: She wore a red gown from famous fashion designer Elie Saab's fall collection. I like this not only because it's gorgeous, but because of the design on the front of the dress. I am not a big fan of a lot designs on dresses, but I have a few favorites that look amazing.

3. Robin Roberts (News anchor for GMA): She wore a black sleeveless jumpsuit that included sparkly embellishments around the neck and belt. This is one of my favorite outfits because it's nice and simple. But it also adds that wow factor with the details around the neckline and waistline.

4. Jana Kramer: I actually love this gown. This ball gown is from designer Theia's fall collection; this dress includes a plain long sleeved black top and the bottom was of a green, blue, and purple floral skirt. Because it is plain at the top and dramatic on the button makes it one of my favorites.

5. Colbie Caillat: I loved her song "bubbly" and that is just what she looked like. She looked very pretty in this short metallic dress, that included a geometric pattern. The designer is Nicole Miller. Her dress reminds me of the 70's disco era and I think that is why it's another favorite!

What was your favorite dress? It does not have to be from this post.
                                           Hope you enjoyed!

What is Beauty?

Sunday, November 3, 2013

My definition of Beauty: Beauty comes from within. It does not matter what you look like, everyone is beautiful. No one should be ashamed of how they look. We are all created to look different and unique; that is why we are special.

The reason I am doing this post, is to show how beauty is never about what's on the inside; its always about the outside. People believe you have to look a certain way in order to fit society's criteria of what "beauty" really is. Sometimes people are afraid they will not be accepted by society. It is really sad that
society has always been this way but, apparently it will never change. In my opinion society's perception of beauty is based on appearance. You have to look a certain way to fit the image.

Pictured below are 3 movie examples of how people are judged by their appearance and not their personality. I have actually watched these movies, I either have them in tape or DVD form. These movies are 3 of my favorites , but their also perfect for this topic.

She's All That

In the movie She's all that, the character Laney Boggs is a normal person who loves art. But according to almost everyone she is a geeky and unpopular girl. She is rarely noticed and when she is, she gets picked on because of the way she looks. Once she transforms her appearance with the help of Zachary's sister everyone starts to either give her attention or they become jealous of her. She was a nice person, so why wasn't that enough?

                                              Beauty and the Beast

When I was little I did not understand the beginning of this movie; In reality what kid did.
So as an adult I watch it again and realized, the message was "never judge a book by its cover". In the beginning a woman knocks on the prince's door asking for help. He refused because she looked "ugly". But it was a disguise she was , it was a test and he failed. As punishment she put a spell on him that made him look "ugly".  She said that if someone did not fall in love with him for what's inside and not his looks, the curse would remain forever.

Princess Diaries

Mia was an ordinary girl who got picked on, because of the way she looked. Her grandma on her dad's side comes in her life and tell her that she (Mia) is royal. Long story short, she gets a makeover and her best friend thinks she is changing the way she looks just to be popular. People started treating her different, especially Josh (the guy she had a crush on).

Sometimes people change their appearance for themselves and that is fine. That is not my point. My point is that people are judged because of their looks. Sometimes that influences people to change their look, so they can fit in. Another point of mine is to let people know that their beautiful just the way they are.
This is only my opinion because of what I have seen.

What do you think?
