Wednesday's Health/Beauty Tips: Too much heat is no good

                                           Picture of damaged hair

As all of us girls already know heat is extremely damaging to our hair. It's ok if we use a small amount of heat, but too much is not healthy for your hair. One of the things that can happen to your hair because of it is split ends. Split ends is the splitting and fraying of the hair shaft due to the excessive use of heat and mechanical stress. Breakage is another cause of heat damage. Breaking of the hair is because of constant heat exposure. Heat is not the only reason for damaged hair. For example, coloring( bleaching and dying) your hair is really damaging. Actually any chemicals put into the hair is not healthy.

Solutions and ways to repair damaged hair: If you want to straighten your hair or blow dry your hair that is fine, just do not put heat on your hair everyday. I put heat in my hair only once a week and I see a big difference. As for coloring, try using ammonia free dyes.

Repairing damaged hair is easy, but it takes time and patience. There are a lot of hair masks and hair treatments to help your hair and nurse it back to health. Hot oil treatments help your hair a lot, it rebuilds your hair from breaking and also keeps the hair moisturized. The hot castor oil treatment is a popular treatment used to fix damaged hair. I am sure there are plenty of oil treatments at your nearest beauty supply store.

My Elf Powder Brush

Saturday, June 1, 2013

  • This brush can be used with wet or dry products.
  • You can use this with powder or blush.
  • This is also perfect forcontouring.

-Directions: Dip brush in powder and tap off excess powder before use.

-Care Instructions: Clean this brush regularly with the Elf brush cleanser and shampoo. This helps maintain color application. Then reshape your brush and let dry. If you do not have the cleanser and shampoo, it's ok. I do not have the cleaner and the shampoo, so I use warm water and my regular shampoo to clean. For me it works fine.

I love this brush because it feels so soft against my skin, a lot of brushes are usually hard and rough and leaves your skin irritated. This is very good when blending your powder or blush and as mentioned in the beginning, this also works with wet products. As for contouring using this brush gives you a natural look.
